8 followers? Wow!

I just noticed that. I didn’t really expect to get any followers on this blog, like I said before this was mostly just for me to compile pictures of things I liked while I plan out the redesign for my room.

Interior design has always kind of been a hobby of mine. I’ve been a large influence in the redecorating of most rooms in my parent’s house (my mom thinks I should be an interior designer, but I chose to major in Fashion Design and Digital Media) , I decorated my first apartment all on my own, and I love looking at pictures of interior design.

My influences for my room are shabby chic, beachy meets moroccan style. I love bright colors and vintage florals, sari fabrics and moroccan lanterns. I can’t bring myself to do the full shabby chic look…I think the line from Target is adorable but it’s a little too pastel for me…so I think if anything I’ll stick with washed out brights so I get that vintage-y feel without making my room look like a nursery or old lady’s room.

What I’d really like to find…

…is a floral bedskirt and matching valance, then solid color bedding (maybe white, maybe one of the colors pulled from the pattern) but I can’t seem to find them…I’m guessing if I really want it I’ll have to make it myself.

…on another note…my mom picked up a Cynthia Rowley Color Therapy quilt for me for just $30 bucks the other day! It’s really pretty, combines two of my favorite things…lots of bright colors and vintage looking floral patterns. I may have to rethink my redesign.
